Aerials of New York City

The flight from Bedford, MA to NYC was about 90 minutes, under 6,000 ft overcast with occasional rain showers. Not the best conditions for sightseeing, but you make the best of it. On the way we passed near Hartford, CT.

Near White Plains, NY we begin to see the Hudson River

Passing over the Tappen Zee bridge, being dismantled, while one span of the newly completed Mario Cuomo Bridge carries traffic, the second span still under construction

The Palisades and the Alpine Tower, an aircraft reporting point on the Hudson River corridor. However we were in contact with ATC so we didn't need to make the self-report calls.

We were at 1,500 feet, which should be below the top of the spire, but it doesn't look like that from this photo. Brooklyn Bridge visible again just right of the wing strut.

Ellis Island

This photo is interesting because just to the right of the "Freedom Tower" is a 29 story building with no windows. The AT&T Long Lines building contains telephone switching equipment, and is allegedly used by the NSA for electronic surveillance.
